When I was a boy, I saw an article about a vertical sink hole diving deep within the earth, located in the middle of a tropical jungle.  A group of extreme sport enthusiasts were going to base jump/parachute into this hole in the ground!  To my adolescent mind, I felt this was the most stupid, idiotic, awesome, and unbelievable thing I had ever read.  To this day I reflect on this as one of the most amazing things a human could attempt.

What then seemed like an impossible feat…. is now a bullet point on the trip of a lifetime.
